Tj-Awar-Awar Power Station is satisfied with Safe-Fire’s HESI system.

Safe-Fire HESI systems were installed at the TJAwar-Awar Power Station. The system has been running since the first half of 2018. Mr. Jhoniansyah from the power plant expressed his satisfaction with the HESI system and was particularly impressed by the reliability and service from Safe-Fire. Since the HESI systems were installed, the boiler startup process has become easier, faster and trouble free.


Safe-Fire was awarded new contract on Belt and Road Initiative.

In September, Safe-Fire and Zheda Tianyuan Technology Co., Ltd won the bid to supply flame detectors for its tiny oil gun system at Kalteng Power Plant in Indonesia. This is another project in which Safe-Fire is involved with the Belt and Road Initiative.


Electric & Power Vietnam 2018, September 12 to 14, 2018, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam

From September 12 to 14, Safe-Fire exhibited at the Electric & Power Vietnam 2018 show in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. Safe-Fire presented its core products including burner temperature measurement systems,
the TempVision product series as well as the legacy flame detection, ignition system and other related products. Safe-Fire also held a technical session to introduce its new product series – TempVision. The TempVision products generated a lot of interest for its combustion optimization capabilities that reduce fuel consumption and control emissions.


Power Gen Asia 2018, September 18 to 20, 2018, Jakarta, Indonesia

For the 2nd year, Safe-Fire joined the US Pavilion and exhibited at the Power Gen Asia. The event this year was held in Jakarta, Indonesia from September 18 to 20, 2018. Our booth attracted a large crowd of visitors who showed great interests following Safe-Fire’s recent successful boiler tuning at Pelabuhan Ratu Power Plant. They are excited of the technology optimizes combustion by reducing fuel consumption and
lower emissions.


Safe-Fire TempVision1000 helps power plant save fuel by 1.95%

In September, the Safe Fire service team performed temperature studies and optimized the boiler combustion environment using a Safe-Fire TempVision1000 (Portable Temperature Profiling System at the Pelabuhan Ratu Power Plant. Our team collected temperature profiles from each of the coal burners via the existing viewing port. Upon completion of the measurements, the data revealed not only temperature differences between the burners, but also that the performance was less optimal. Slagging issues were also observed. At the request of the power plant, the team tuned the secondary air flow of the CD level on Boiler Unit #1. After the adjustments, the boiler load jumped from 308.4MW to 323.7MW, a 4.96% increase. This could potentially result in a 1.95% fuel savings at the plant, which is equivalent of about a US$1.44M savings per year for this boiler unit only.

W-flame/HESI upgrade at Nghi Son Thermal Power Plant in Vietnam

Safe-Fire Team visited PLTU

Safe-Fire successfully upgraded the Flame Detector and HESI products at the Nghi Son Thermal Power Plant in Vietnam. The plant is a 2x300MW capacity plant with Foster Wheeler boilers. Prior to the upgrade, the high maintenance rates and frequent detector failures during low load raised great concerns on safety. The HESI products also suffered frequent damage, ignition failures and higher fuel usage. Safe-Fire not only helped the plant to upgrade their existing products with the better performance W-Flame and 33J HESI Power Unit, but also shared knowledge with the plant by providing training to the plant personnel and adjusting the relevant positions of the equipment. As a result, the plant was able to achieve improved boiler safety
operations as well as successful ignitions for boiler cold start-up and reduced oil consumption.


W-FLAME is an integral configuration flame detector. The detector and signal amplifier are combined into a single assembly, which simplifies installation and eliminates the need for a separate amplifier cabinet and costly specialized cables. The causes of optical fiber damages can be any of these scenarios below:

  • Cooling air’s pressure is low
  • Outer Carrier / Inner Carrier are damaged
  • Poor quality of the optical fibers
  • Fuel and load changes leading to combustion condition changed, the ignition flame from burner nozzle is relatively close, leading to high temperature optical fiber front end.
